My name is Greg
Draves, and I’m 28 years old. My goal is to show
that young people have the power to make an impact
in local politics. I believe the Libertarian Party
has the most positive message of any major party. I
urge everyone, especially young people, to vote on
November 6!
Too many people are in jail for no good reason.
The fastest way to reduce prison crowding, alleviate
the burden on our courts—and on the citizens who
must serve as jurors in these cases—and reenergize
the flagging morale of the police in this city is to
end the ineffective War on Drugs. The money we spend
fighting “crime” would be much better spent helping
those in need—through treatment and
rehabilitation—and fighting real crimes such as
theft, vandalism, and murder. Too much of our money
has been wasted already.
The City of New York must get out of the real
estate business once and for all. The city
controls numerous vacant buildings in our
neighborhood, yet rents are increasing, and people
who have lived in their apartments for decades are
being relocated. Let’s end the artificial housing
shortage!
Let’s end the income tax on businesses. If we
encourage people to re-invest profits into their
companies, we’ll see improved quality in products
and services made in New York, which will give us a
competitive advantage over nearby suburbs and New
Jersey, and that will decrease commuting times for
New Yorkers and allow them to spend more time with
their families.
Personal freedom and economic independence for
all New Yorkers. Join me in looking beyond the
labels, and see which candidate really wants the
same things you want!
