New York City is the “Capital of
the World” and is the host city for millions
of immigrants. I am one fortunate immigrant who
landed in New York City 30 years ago. I cherish
educational values, family values, communal harmony
and diversity. It is a matter of honor for me
to enter into public life and serve the people
of the County of Queens and District 23.
MY GOALS
Education -The Board of Education system
is large and unmanageable. I will work to advance
decentralization on a borough-wide basis. And,
improve school safety and security.
Allocation of Funding to Queens and District
23 - The population of Queens has increased
by 11% according to the Year 2000 Census. I will
endeavor to fight for additional resources for
police, fire, schools, and sanitation.
Domestic Violence - This social evil is
attributable to many socio-economic reasons. I
will endeavor to provide counseling and assistance
to victims.
Affordable Day Care Centers - I will help
communities set up safe and affordable day care
centers so that working parents can go to work
carefree.
Adult Day Care/Senior Centers - Fight for
improved conditions and services.
Youth Services - Set up Internet Cafe’s,
expansion of library services and sports programs.
Taxes - Fight for elimination of taxes,
which burden poor and middle class families and
advocate for the permanent elimination of sales
taxes on clothing and food.
Municipal Services, Parks and Community Beautification
- Improved roads, signage and clean and safe streets.
Fight for funding to support development of the
Eastern Queens Recreation Center.
Endorsements Received - From many community
organizations and the Honorable Speaker Peter
Vallone, a Democratic Candidate for Mayor.
