Matt Farrell has the experience
to get our fair share from City Hall. As Chief-of-Staff
for a Council Member, Matt helped secure vital
funding and services for a wide range of organizations,
from senior centers and youth programs to cultural
institutions. Matt’s knowledge of City government
will bring resources to our communities and give
us an effective fighter for our neighborhoods.
Protecting Our Quality of Life
Graffiti Removal and Sanitation
Matt supports expanding existing graffiti reporting
and removal programs, prosecuting vandals and
increasing funding for sanitation department manpower
and equipment. We need more frequent collection
of recyclables and public wastebaskets to keep
our streets clean.
Personal Safety
Matt will be a strong voice to see that we receive
our fair share of officers and prevent reallocation
of precinct personnel to events outside the community.
Seniors
Matt knows how to bring vital funding to our senior
centers and community based programs. Matt will
fight for safe, affordable home care and relief
from the outrageous cost of prescription drugs
and health care.
Education
Teachers
Matt knows that a well-prepared teacher is the
most important factor in a child’s education.
We must attract and retain qualified teachers
through competitive salary and benefits.
School Construction
A safe place to learn is vital for academic success.
Matt will fight for funding to renovate and construct
school facilities.
After School Programs
Children must learn in a nurturing environment
throughout the school day, but also need after-school
programs for academics, athletics and the arts.
Strengthening Neighborhoods
Matt will use the Council’s zoning
and budgetary powers to improve parks and build
affordable housing for working families. We must
identify feasible housing sites, ensure zoning
meets housing needs and update the Building Code
to eliminate duplicative and onerous provisions.
