A resident
of Eltingville on the south shore, Al moved to Staten
Island in 1985 and has been an active community
leader since that time. Working his way through
the ranks as a carpenter in Local 157 he soon achieved
the position of Shop Steward. In an effort to make
a better life for his wife and two children, he
opened his own embroidery business and became active
with the local merchants.
The youngest of three children Al’s mother and
father encouraged him to actively pursue his goals
and dreams and to always work hard. His father,
a decorated veteran of WWII, instilled in him
a passion and a drive to be the best he could
be and to always fight for what he believed in.
Al served his country in the Vietnam War and is
an active member of the Vietnam Veterans chapter
421.
In the years that Al has been involved in helping
his community, he has been a work in progress
attaining many credits, including raising more
then Two Million Dollars from the city council
for the south shore and working his way up to
becoming a valued and respected community leader.
He’s a real person, facing real issues. He knows
what it’s like to work hard to earn a living,
to pay high taxes, to pay a mortgage, to find
good schools and safe environments for his children
to grow up.
Al knows the needs and wants of his community
and stands ready to address those needs in the
City Council. He will approach the job of City
Council Member from a different perspective. The
perspective of the average resident, with real
needs, real hopes and real dreams, and he will
do everything in his power to serve those residents
and his district to the best of his ability and
help them attain a better quality of life.
