Israel Ruiz, Jr. has been an effective State Senator and City Council member for over two decades. Of humble means, Ruiz, a product of the Bronx, has achieved the American dream. A fighter, he has overcome major obstacles in his life. His brand of constructive and positive action has made him a recognized and accomplished leader.
Through his legislative action, Ruiz has brought millions of dollars in capital projects and programs to his constituents, and will continue to do so in the City Council.
In the City Council, Ruiz will push for economic development and job creation in his district, and has vowed to fight the corrupt politics that have taken their hold on the Bronx.
For his work, Ruiz has been named American Legion veteran of the year and the Municipal Police Benevolent Association Man of the Year.
Ruiz has won over 300 other community service awards for his work in the community.
