1. What is the most important issue in Council District 28 you would address if elected?
An important factor that impedes our growth is the lack of sustainable and long term economic development. By addressing the void of economic development and by expanding job opportunities the benefit will result in a decrease in crime and an overall increase in the quality of life.
2. What other important issues would you address if elected?
I am working to curb the proliferation of gun and gang violence that is permeating communities across the city. We need to get to the root cause of crime and provide needed services.
3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?
My history in this community has made me sensitive to the issues. I have been in elected office for 2 1/2 years during which we have fought cuts to our senior and daycare centers and won; delivered millions to upgrade technology in all my local public schools; fought the closures of PS 30 and August Martin HS-and won the fight to keep PS 40 open. I have also secured funding for non profits that provide vital services.
