Prior Public Experience: Served as a legislative staffer for over 15 years in the City Council. In September 2008, I was featured in City and State's "40 Under 40 Rising Stars - The Next Generation of Political Leaders in New York".
1. What is the most important issue in Council District 47 you would address if elected?
I believe that Public Safety is one of the most important issues in my district. I will work to secure additional funding to add more police officers on our streets to improve our communities' safety and overall quality of life.
2. What other important issues would you address if elected?
Expand after school programs, reduce overcrowding in our schools, increase parent and community involvement and expand gifted and talented programs.
Advocate for responsible economic development to provide good paying jobs in our city and our communities.
Protect small businesses from unfair fines and regulations and facilitate business friendly environment to help nourish their success.
Increase access to affordable housing, healthcare, senior services and public transportation.
Secure funding to rebuild and protect our neighborhoods post Super Storm Sandy.
3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?
I have been an active member of our community for over a decade, having served on many non-profit boards as well as my local Community Board 13. With over 15 years of experience in the City Council, I know what the job entails and I am ready to serve the people from day one. For me this is not a career change, this is my profession and I hope you will hire me!
