The foundation of my platform is threefold:
- Overhaul of the educational infrastructure
in East Harlem consisting of:
A. More parental control.
B. Smaller class sizes.
C. Better pay for teachers and attracting more
certified teachers to El Barrio.
D. Universal pre-k
E. Renovation of and construction of buildings
in our district.
- Economic Development
A. Lower taxes on small business.
B. Use City Pension funds for start-up funds
for local businesses.
C. Make sure the 2nd Avenue subway stops in
East Harlem.
D. Develop better programs for local non-development
and lobby for them intensely.
- Health Care
A. Reduce the asthma rate (highest in the city).
B. Re-locate the Bus depot.
C. Universal enrollment in Child Health Plus.
D. Increase funding for school based and local
health clinics.
E. No price discrimination for senior citizen
drug prescription.
F. Living wage salaries for home care attendants.
- Stop unscrupulous gentrification and high
rent - protect and fight for rent stabilization.
