It is up to you to
hire the next City Councilman in the 14th District
to City Hall. This is my short resume for your consideration.
Consider hiring Mr. Agustin Alamo.
I congratulate you for being a devoted voter and
I solicit your cooperation for the upcoming primary
election. I need your help in making long needed
changes in our community. As you know, the winner
of the primary wins the general election.
I’m a family man and schoolteacher in our community.
I own a home in the district. All my children attend
NYC Public Schools. Many changes need to be made
at the Board of Education to improve and ensure
quality education. I’ve been involved in community
change for over 30 years and have seen very little
improvement.
Public officials have not done their jobs.
This is the first year that term limits goes into
effect and councilpersons will be replaced. Our
district continues to be the poorest in the entire
United States. All previous councilmen have done
little to help get our community out of poverty.
Too many elected officials are accountable to “Special
Interest Groups” and not YOU the person that hires
them.
I believe the community should be the only “vested
interest group” for a councilperson. I will work
to improve Education, Free tuition for excellent
students, safety and sanitation, homeowner’s rights,
Senior citizen affordable medication and a better
relationship with local police. My vested interest
is that of the community.
Rising Voices seeks to change ineffective leadership;
in 1997 we almost won. The “special interest groups”
didn’t want a rising voice in office. They picked
and selected someone less effective for our community.
As long as we keep re-electing “do nothing candidates”,
our community is condemned to stay poorly represented.
That is why your vote must bring new leadership.
I ask that you consider me, your Rising Voice, in
City Hall.
