1. What is the most important issue in Council District 06 you would address if elected?

We need progressive, forward looking leadership to maintain the character, quality of life and affordability of the Upper West Side to make sure seniors can stay here, young people can start here and the middle class can prosper.

2. What other important issues would you address if elected?

I will promote an agenda to "Fix the Future". This includes working to make sure every child has the chance to get a quality education, protecting tenants and providing for seniors. It also means developing creative solutions to combat the plague of rats, improve infrastructure, promote sustainability and alternative energy sources and address traffic and transportation needs. All to make our community stronger and life better on the Upper West Side.

3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?

I am an unabashed progressive leader who knows how to get things done on the local, state and national level. I've been an active Board member of NARAL ProChoiceNY for more than 20 years and fought for women's rights, reproductive freedom and healthcare, including working on the landmark NYS and NYC Clinic Access Bills. As a Democratic State Committeewoman, I sponsored the resolution supporting the Millionaires Tax, championed a ban on fracking and worked with local leaders to stop the West Side Stadium and protect "Mom and Pop" stores. With women now making up just one-third of the City Council and the number likely to drop, we need more women on the City Council who understand the challenges middle class families face, will end the gridlock and corruption and put families over politics. I'm proud to be endorsed by leading progressive voices like the Progressive Change Campaign Committee and Blue America to bring this change and work for a better future for our community and our city.
