Prior Public Experience: A Community Pastor/Organizer/Educator, I worked to create programs like Rebounding Math, using basketball as a tool to teach math to students. I also created a number of programs such as Youth Entrepreneurship & Homework Hoops geared towards education and mentoring our youth. Host Safe Surrender and participated in Gun Buy Back programs
1. What is the most important issue in Council District 36 you would address if elected?
Addressing problems facing our youth is top priority. Creating new programs aimed at keeping our children off the streets providing them with a structured, well rounded environment that will work towards building a safer, more prosperous community.
2. What other important issues would you address if elected?
Education is a important issue, I would continue my work in the community by creating social service programs such as food drives, youth & senior programs, as well as health screenings targeting cancer, HIV, hypertension, cholesterol, and diabetes.
3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?
Nearly 12 years I've helped hundreds of families in our community gain access to food, shelter, job training programs, spiritual guidance. My first hand knowledge of the issues that matter to real people sets me apart and equally, I am proud to have been touched by so many lives in our community. Being a member of the City Council will allow me to further my ability to serve my community in a larger capacity.
