Previous Occupation(s): Craig began his career in the Pentagon, serving as an aide to the Assistant Secretary of the Navy. In that capacity, Craig assisted in the management of an organization of 100,000 employees with a $50 billion annual budget. Craig also worked on historic acquisition programs, notably the rush delivery of MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) vehicles to Iraq. Following his time with the Assistant Secretary, Craig joined the Office of Naval Intelligence as an intelligence analyst. While working at ONI, Craig authored the first ever baseline assessment in his area of expertise. Craig received a Special Act Award for writing reports for and conducting briefings with senior officials.

1. What is the most important issue in Council District 30 you would address if elected?
If elected to the City Council, Craig will fight to make the neighborhood issues of the 30th district a priority in City Hall. Tax dollars back to the 30th district have been cut while taxes, fines and fees have gone up. Craig will support charter schools and tax credits for parochial schools, oppose water rate and property tax increases and reduce burdensome regulations that harm our small businesses. The 30th district needs a voice and City Hall needs a change.
2. What other important issues would you address if elected?
Craig will vigorously support the police tactic of 'stop and frisk'. Politicians are forgetting what it what like to live in New York when crime was high and people were afraid to ride the subway or visit areas like Time Square. Police shouldn't be guilty until proven innocent just for doing their jobs. As a Councilmember, Craig will be an advocate for crime fighting tactics that work.
3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?
After four years in office, the 30th council ranks 46 out of 51 in tax payer money back to the district. This metric highlights our current Councilmember's failure to be an effective advocate for our community. Craig will work to invest in our schools, infrastructure to prevent flooding and bring more support to the numerous volunteer and civic organizations throughout the district. Craig has proven leadership skills with experience working in demanding environments. Craig knows that excuses don't cut it, only results count.
