Vote, for our next City Councilman
ERIK MARTIN DILAN, he’s already making
a difference for all of us!
ERIK MARTIN DILAN is a life-long resident
of the
37th Council District. Born on May 11, 1974 to
Debra and Martin Malave-Dilan. ERIK MARTIN
DILAN comes from a family of public servants.
His father, Councilman Martin Malave-Dilan let
him know at a young age that being an advocate
for the community required three qualities: consistency,
insistency, and persistency.
ERIK MARTIN DILAN has consistently been
at the forefront of issues affecting his community.
When the Board of Education attempted to privatize
several schools, ERIK MARTIN DILAN led
a coalition of parents, school board members,
and elected officials to make sure parents were
informed of the dangers of privatization. Concurrently,
Mr. Dilan has also been instrumental in having
four schools removed from state’s School Under
Registration Review (SURR) and one from the Chancellors
district.
As a product of the community that he is seeking
to represent on the city council, ERIK MARTIN
DILAN understands the needs of our community.
He has been very active in several youth and senior
initiatives. As Chairman of the Horace E. Greene
Scholarship Committee he has raised funds for
students for their educational endeavors. Additionally,
ERIK MARTIN DILAN has served as a volunteer
Basketball coach at St. Martin’s Church as well
as other youth leagues and seniors services. It
was here that ERIK MARTIN DILAN insisted
that the young people he coached take their schoolwork
seriously while working toward making their neighborhood
a better place to live.
ERIK MARTIN DILAN has been and will be
persistent in his vision for the 37th Council
District: Education, Housing, Senior Services
and Economic Development
