Ricky is the only candidate for the 37th
Councilmanic District with a long-standing track
record fighting crime. Ricky has met with almost
every block association in the area over the past
13 years to bring them resources and training
opportunities to help address their own quality
of life issues.
Ricky will advocate for literacy academies. He’ll
push for greater computer literacy. He’ll fight
against privatization of our public schools, and
will work closely with the Board of Education
for higher standards of accountability and creative
learning. He’ll work to create more afterschool
programming, such as the Police And Community
Together (PACT) Center, a youth and community
center that Ricky created.
Ricky will address quality of life issues that
affect our business community such as street repairs,
lighting, graffiti removal, and signage. He’ll
conduct a needs-analysis to identify the goods
and services that community members are currently
lacking, and use this information to attract investors
into the area.
Ricky is familiar with the health issues of our
community: HIV/AIDS, asthma, lead paint poisoning,
diabetes, and hepatitis B continue to disproportionately
affect the East Brooklyn corridor. Ricky will
take an immediate, aggressive stance on prevention,
intervention, and treatment on these health-related
issues by working closely with the other elected
officials to bring healthcare resources on the
city, state and federal level.
Ricky’s community work has earned him the endorsements
of Mayoral Candidate Fernando Ferrer, Congressman
Ed Towns, Congresswoman Nydia Velasquez, Assemblyman
Darryl Towns, Assemblywoman Diane Gordon, and
Democratic District Leader Anibal Ortiz.
Ricky is dependable, resourceful, and hardworking.
He’s the only candidate for the 37th Councilmanic
District that has the experience, knowledge, and
track record to bring revitalization about. He’ll
serve you on the City Council with passion, diligence,
and respect. Ricky Perez: Your next City Councilman.
