David Storobin
Republican, Conservative, Independence

Current Occupation: Attorney & Real Estate Broker

Previous Occupation(s): Only the part-time jobs when I was in school. This included a dish washer in a restaurant, flyer boy for a pizzeria, and delivery and stock clerk for a pharmacy.

Education: J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law

Organizational Affiliations: Vice Chairman of the Brooklyn GOP. On the Board of Directors of the American Jewish Committee (New York Chapter).

Prior Public Experience: State Senator

1. What is the most important issue in Council District 48 you would address if elected?

Improving both public & private education through better funding & common sense reform.

2. What other important issues would you address if elected?

Creating jobs by reducing taxation & bureaucracy.

Improving the way we take care of our elderly, both in hospital & at home.

3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?

I'm the only candidate not afraid to stand up to special interests. Nobody wanted to stand up to the powerful unions on the issue of school vouchers, but I sponsored a bill to allow for vouchers to be funded.

I also stood up to my own party! When the Senate GOP proposed to raise the cost of prescription drugs for the elderly covered by Medicare, I was the only Republican senator to vote against it. There is no special interest or political organization that will prevent me from fighting to do what's right!
