John Fratta is a lifelong
resident of the Lower East Side and currently resides
in Southbridge Towers with his wife, Elena, and
their children, Anthony and Jennifer. John Fratta
has been in NYC government since 1975. John is currently
the District Manager of Community Board #11 in the
Bronx. Today, John serves as Democratic District
Leader and fights for neighborhood concerns including
housing, education, and protecting seniors.
John is dedicated to improving the lives of children
through education. John served as the President
of the PTA at PS 124, where his son attended grammar
school, and as Vice-Chair of Community School District
#2 Parent’s Council.
As former Chairman of the Board of Gouverneur Hospital,
John actively fought to increase diversity on the
board, and helped make a difference in the delivery
of medical care to the elderly.
John Fratta has also been involved in labor issues
throughout the city. John was a member of the Executive
Board of Local 371 and represented that union on
the Central Labor Council. As an active union delegate,
he consistently organized and was in the forefront
of many issues, particularly concerning working
conditions.
John Fratta’s unique blend of community activism
and government experience sets him apart from his
opponents in this race.
