The NYC Campaign Finance Board (CFB), a nonpartisan, independent agency that enhances the role of New York City residents in elections, seeks an Auditor for its Auditing and Accounting Unit. We offer a dynamic work environment, training, growth potential, and excellent benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze financial records and disclosure statements for desk and field financial, compliance and investigative audits of political campaigns. Overtime will be required to complete work as needed.
  • Perform audits in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS) and following internally developed specialized programs.
  • Manage assigned audit caseload in team structure in adherence with internal and external deadlines, coordinating with other CFB units as necessary.
  • Provide assistance in planning activities of the audit team during the post-election period and coordinating the team’s activities with other CFB units.
  • Prepare written reports and correspondence that are clear, concise, accurate and timely.
  • Communicate with campaigns in a professional manner and assist in providing guidance to campaigns on various audit and compliance issues.
  • Represent the Auditing and Accounting Unit as required on special projects.

  • A master’s degree is not required but will be a plus.

Supervisory Senior Auditor

Department: Auditing & Accounting

The NYC Campaign Finance Board (CFB), a nonpartisan, independent city agency that enhances the role of New York City residents in elections, seeks an experienced audit manager to serve as a Supervisory Senior Auditor in its Auditing and Accounting Unit. The Unit’s core function is to perform detailed, timely audits of campaigns’ financial disclosure statements and supporting documentation in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS). Responsibilities:

  • Supervise up to five Senior Auditors and their teams of auditors.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate audit staff in performing audit work in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS).
  • Perform complex compliance, investigative, and financial audits of political campaigns. Overtime will be required to complete work as needed.
  • Coordinate assignments for all teams, ensuring that deadlines are met with resources on hand.
  • Review the work performed by each team; preliminarily approve work papers, audit findings and audit reports.
  • Review and approve the statement reviews performed by each team of auditors.
  • Communicate with management and other CFB units on various audit and compliance issues.
  • Participate in planning activities of the audit teams during the pre- and post-election periods and help coordinate the Audit unit’s activities with other CFB units.
  • Assist other CFB units in compliance, investigation, and enforcement actions.
  • Prepare and present trainings for audit staff.
  • Evaluate the performance of Senior Auditors and provide timely feedback and guidance to assist in their professional development.

  • New York City residency must be obtained within 90 days of starting the position.
  • Previous experience in performing audits in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards.

Candidate Services Liaison

Department: Candidate Guidance & Policy
Job Status: Full-Time

Salary Range: $50,000 - $55,000

The NYC Campaign Finance Board (CFB), a nonpartisan, independent city agency that enhances the role of New York City residents in elections, seeks a Candidate Services Liaison. We offer a team-oriented work environment, professional development opportunities, growth potential, and excellent benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a primary liaison between the CFB and candidates running for New York City office.
  • Monitor and assist campaigns in preparing campaign finance disclosure reports.
  • Provide one-on-one guidance on matters of compliance with campaign finance regulations.
  • Assist candidates in the process of qualifying for public matching funds.
  • Prepare training and guidance materials on recordkeeping and reporting requirements.
  • Conduct trainings for candidates, treasurers, campaign staff and the public.
  • Teach and provide technical support for the Candidate Software for Managing and Reporting Transactions (C-SMART).
  • Test updates to C-SMART and other CFB systems applications.

Essential Skills:

Graphic Designer

Department: Marketing and Digital Communications

The New York City Campaign Finance Board (CFB), a nonpartisan, independent agency that enhances the role of New York City residents in elections, seeks a Graphic Designer that can create compelling and engaging visuals for digital and print media. The ideal candidate will be a conceptual thinker who is passionate about inclusive design, and adept at distilling complex information into accessible and easy-to-understand graphics. The position will report to the Art Director and collaborate with colleagues across the Public Affairs division to create branded materials that help to amplify our voter education and outreach efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and creation of informational and marketing materials within digital and print platforms.
  • Design compelling creatives that are visually and tonally consistent across all media, utilizing agency brand guidelines and assets to drive brand awareness and trust.
  • Work closely with colleagues to develop an understanding of target audiences to produce impactful materials that resonate with diverse backgrounds and perspectives while creating a cohesive experience across all agency platforms.
  • Collaborate with Content and Policy & Research teams to create data visualizations and infographics that communicate complex concepts with clarity and simplicity.
  • Assist in production of citywide Voter Guide, including preparing candidate photos and other artwork and reviewing drafts and proofs from vendors.
  • Support review and approval process and integrate feedback and edits to ensure that final materials are accurate and complete.
  • Research relevant artwork and typefaces for integration into designs.
  • Reviews specs for each project to ensure accurate file set-up and export.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and other standard industry software and experienced in pre-flight and print production.
  • Creative and flexible problem solver with ability to process complex ideas and data points into relatable visual communications.
  • Sharp design and typography skills, with a keen eye toward detail and visual hierarchy.

Project Coordinator

Department: Marketing and Digital Communications
Job Status: Part-Time

(6mos-1yr)
Hourly Rate: $28 – 32 per hour

The New York City Campaign Finance Board (CFB), a nonpartisan, independent agency that enhances the role of New York City residents in elections, seeks a Project Coordinator to assist in the organization of projects within the Marketing and Digital Communications Unit. Under the guidance of the Production Manager, this part-time role supports the agency with high-volume work periods and special projects as assigned, with a particular emphasis on the official NYC Voter Guide and other public-facing materials produced in coordination with the election cycle. In collaboration with the team, the Project Coordinator will support the agency’s goals of increasing voter participation and enhancing awareness of the CFB’s matching funds program.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with project stakeholders to gather and clarify needs and specifications for Marketing and Digital Communications projects, such as content, deadlines, and budget.
  • Create and implement project schedules and monitor the day-to-day needs of projects.
  • Provide project team members with requirements, resources, and schedules to help ensure that final products are delivered in a timely manner and are consistent with the agency’s message and brand.
  • Collaborate with design, content, and video production teams to execute creative projects.
  • Research and collaborate with vendors for the unit’s projects, including printers, translators, and creative, digital, and advertising agencies.
  • Assist in the solicitation of candidate submissions and process them for Legal review, translations, and formatting.

.NET Web Developer

Department: Systems Administration

Under general supervision, with broad scope for the exercise of independent initiative and judgment, this developer is responsible for the system analysis, technical design, development, testing, enhancement, and maintenance of various applications that support the Agency’s business functions. The selected candidate will be required to perform tasks related to the development of software applications and data transformation activities for the Agency.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for full software development life cycle, including user interface design, database development, back-end architecture, deployment and maintenance of the defined solution based on business and functional requirements
  • Design, write, unit test, and document application code to successfully deliver secure, robust, transactional and service oriented architectures
  • Adhere to Git branching structure and follow policies that are in place in creation of pull requests for approval.
  • Understand the Agency’s strategic initiatives and develop technology solutions that deliver the required business value

  • 3+ years of experience with ability to build/create/maintain application databases utilizing MS SQL Server/Azure SQL, including SSIS, TSQL, stored procedures, views, and functions.
  • Tools – MS Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Azure DevOps with Git, cloud services in Azure.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work both independently and in conjunction with team members and business units. Enthusiasm and flexibility to work on a variety of projects are necessary, as well as the ability to rapidly acquire new domain familiarity
