Candidate Statement
We will no longer tolerate a system that uses our tax dollars for favors and fails to deliver what citizens need.
We will enact ethics reform and address Albany’s culture of corruption by eliminating JCOPE and replacing it with an autonomous entity that monitors officials and independently investigates. We will limit outside compensation of state officials and ban anonymous campaign contributions.
Our transit systems, water, energy and Internet services are in disrepair. We will invest in our state’s crumbling infrastructure including the MTA. We will use data to drive decision-making and coordinate across private and public sectors to stretch dollars further and deliver measurable progress for residents.
We will abolish economic development programs, which are the most expensive and least effective in the country, and instead use that money to takeover the local share of Medicaid costs outside of New York City and remit those savings to property tax payers.
