Organizational Affiliation
For the past 10 years, I have been very involved with the Alzheimer’s Association, knowing first-hand the devastation that Alzheimer’s wreaks on families. As the parent of a severely autistic son, I am involved with several autism organizations. Literacy and information access is critical, so I sit on Stanford University Libraries’ Advisory Board. I am also a member of Stanford’s Archeology Center Advisory Board. As a CEO, I am an active member of the Young Presidents’ Organization. I also was the NYC Finance Chair for the New York Republican Party.
Prior Public Experience
Along with former New York Knick & former Senator Bill Bradley, I was a Co-Chair of the East Coast Advisory Board of Questbridge, which partners with 40 prestigious universities to send low-income students to these schools free of charge. To date the program has helped over 10,000 students. I currently sit on the board of the WordPress Foundation, a charitable organization founded to democratize publishing through open source.
Candidate Statement
I decided to run for US Senate because Washington is broken. Politicians fight and New York families get left behind. We send $48 billion a year more to Washington than we get back. I will fight to bring that money back to improve our infrastructure, fix the subways, and lower our taxes. I have two degrees from Stanford in engineering, so I know how to build things and make things work. I have spent the last 25 years negotiating financial deals in the private sector. I’ll negotiate a better deal for New York, the place I love and call home, with my husband, Richard, and three children. Unlike a lot of politicians, I’m not running to build a political career. I have pledged to serve only two terms. If you want to change Washington, you need to change the people we send there, and I ask for your vote.
