I am running for office because the Council
needs new energy, enthusiasm and ideas. It needs
a member who can bring new technology solutions
to community problems and look at issues through
a different set of generational eyes. It needs
someone who will work for you full-time. I will
not hold outside employment and I will work on
a ‘24/7’ basis -that’s 24 hours a day, 7 days
a week.
The Council needs to not only do more in Chambers,
but also produce more in the community. Technology
allows government to open dialogues with constituents,
create new solutions to old problems and make
government more responsive to the needs of the
people. But this only works when government officials
know how to implement this technology.
Being a ‘24/7’ councilman I will not hold outside
employment while in office. I will hold weekly
office hours and will also personally respond
to every email I receive. I will hold regular
community town hall meetings. I will work immediately
to improve communication between my constituents
and city government.
‘Listen, Learn and Lead,’ that’s what I want to
do. I understand the answers and solutions to
community problems are out there if we actively
look for them. I want to create a cooperative
environment where citizens give input and contribute
to our growing success. I am ready to learn from
what others have to say, from what others have
accomplished, and from what has previously failed.
Therefore, I offer a new brand of leadership.
Freed from the typical political pressures of
other members with outside employment or interests,
I will become a dedicated and hard-working advocate
for change.
