My candidacy represents
change; my slogan is unity & harmony.
I helped developed a Physician Assistant and Job
Training Program for medical doctors graduated overseas.
I was responsible for increasing the representation
of Hispanics in city government and Community Board
#12.
Housing, education and economic development are
my top priorities for District 10. We need to restructure
our school system. Our residents need jobs not unemployment.
Our residents deserve to live with security though
maintaining affordable housing costs.
Education: Classroom size must be
reduced. Working computers must be in every classroom.
A trade school program that provides our children
with marketable trade skills is essential. An open
admission policy at CUNY is critical. I oppose the
privatization of our public schools.
Economic Development: Access to capital
is needed for small businesses. Local bank must
comply with the Community Reinvestment Act. I will
create incentive plans to attract manufacturers
to the region, to increase employment and development.
I will protect workers’ right to organize.
Rent Stabilization: I will fight for
permanent residential and commercial rent control.
I will work to rehabilitate and restore to individual
ownership all city-owned in rem properties
in the district.
