Victor Morisete-Romero
has worked for children and families for more than
10 years in the Community of Washington Heights,
Inwood and Marble Hill. His leadership ability was
tested at the City College of New York where was
a member of the student Government. Victor’s professional
experience is extensive. He worked at in the City
Council in the office of Councilman Guillermo Linares
where he researched and drafted legislative proposals
vital to improve the quality of life of New York’s
residents.
For the past six years, Victor has led the efforts
to create education and youth development programs
for our community. Victor helped establish the Amber
Charter School and is leading a fight to create
decent and affordable housing for our families.
As Executive Director of the Community Association
of Progressive Dominicans (ACDP), Victor has created
vital programs benefiting thousands of community
residents.
Victor’s accomplishments speak volumes about his
integrity, commitment and strong track record.
- Founded the Amber Charter School, providing
high quality education in a small classroom
environment.
- Obtained funding for the creation of seven
after school programs serving 2,500 children.
- Co-founded the 21st Century Academy For Community
Leadership.
- Obtained funding for two Beacon Schools serving
4,000 families in Washington Heights and the
Bronx.
- Fought for the construction of affordable
government subsidized housing for the low-income
families under the Neighborhood Redevelopment
Program (three buildings has been successfully
rehabilitated).
- Created a citizenship program serving more
than 1,400 residents.
- Created an Adult Education Program that helps
600 residents annually.
If Victor has been able to do all these, imagine
