For more than two decades,
Vaughan Toney has combined a robust career
in public service with a passionate commitment to
child-care advocacy, community activism and tenant
rights. He currently serves as Chief-of-Staff to
Council Member Lloyd Henry (D-Brooklyn), where he
is responsible for coordinating all constituent
services and directing the councilman’s legislative
agenda.
Vaughan Toney will bring to the Council
23 years of experience and expertise at the state
and local legislative levels. He is a veteran
of the state and city budget process and a highly
respected advocate for our community. As Councilman,
he will lead the fight to secure our fair share
of resources in the 45th District and use his
extensive experience to enhance access and opportunity
for our residents in the areas of public education,
affordable housing and health care, quality child
care and economic development. As an accomplished
fighter for our children and families, he will
also be our voice for empowerment in the fields
of tenant and immigrant rights. Vaughan Toney
is committed to improving our overall quality
of life and will work closely with city agencies,
including law enforcement and public safety officials,
to forge a united front with the community in
promoting in that effort.
Vaughan Toney is endorsed by Councilmembers
Lloyd Henry and Una Clarke, Assemblywoman Rhoda
Jacobs and other prominent community leaders.
He is dedicated to the principle of “Putting
Our Community First!” and will be a full-time
member of the Council.
