I have combined a lifelong dedication
to public service and education with a uniquely
hands-on knowledge of the needs of the community.
I believe in the can-do philosophy that has
transformed New York in recent years. As a member
and treasurer of Community Board 13, I know how
to get things done in New York. With common sense,
energy and dedication, we can tackle any challenges
that face us.
On the Community Board I worked to bridge the
gap between the American and Russian-American
members. I am running for City Council to build
a bridge between all the people who make up our
community. I feel by creating one undivided community
we will have the power to pressure City Hall to
improve services to seniors, fix our schools and
increase police protection on our streets.
Quality of life issues, senior services and
strengthening our education system will be my
top priorities as your City Councilman. Students
and teachers must be held to higher standards
and we must see that they meet them; Bias hate
crimes must be stopped; Seniors must be treated
with dignity and respect and our police must continue
to keep the crime rate down.
I will work to make Brooklyn a better place
to live, work and raise our families.
