BRIAN GOTLIEB = EXPERIENCE & RESULTS.
As an unsalaried elected member of Community School
Board 21, I have focused my energies on the issue
of child safety and have:
- Secured additional crossing guards at busy
intersections and the assignment of additional
school safety officers to protect children and
teachers from intruders;
- Secured the installation of stop signs and
traffic lights at unsafe intersections; and,
- Hosted several “Child Safety Programs”
to provide parents with free Polaroid pictures
of their children along with copies of their
fingerprints to give law enforcement personnel
in an emergency.
For the last five years, I have served as Deputy
Chief of Staff to my mentor, Congressman Anthony
Weiner. I supervise the resolution of constituent
concerns and work on issues that are vital to
seniors who live in our community, including:
- Increasing the annual Social Security Cost
of Living Adjustment;
- Providing Medicare recipients with affordable
prescription drugs; and,
- Fighting the skyrocketing costs of private
Medicare Supplementary Insurance premiums.
Our community needs, and deserves, a Councilman
who will address the needs and concerns of his
constituents on a full time basis. I pledge
to be that Councilman. My experience with Congressman
Weiner, and on the School Board, has taught
me how to effectively cut through the “red
tape” of government bureaucracy to provide
constituents the services they need and deserve.
