City’s leading newspapers have endorsed Alan Hevesi.

Comptroller Hevesi’s unique experience -- teacher
for 30 years, manager of 775 person office, fiscal
expert and legislator -- will keep the City

As Assemblymember, Hevesi led fight to protect
women’s right to choose and wrote 108 laws
to:
- Reform nursing homes;
- Require immunization of schoolchildren;
- Prohibit hospitals from denying emergency
care.
As Comptroller, Hevesi:
- Saved millions by increasing audits and modernizing
claims system;
- Earned pension funds billions;
- Rehabilitated 10,770 housing units;
- Financed battered women’s shelters and childcare
centers;
- Saved City’s watershed,
- Helped win $1.65 billion settlement for Holocaust
survivors;
- Blew whistle on predatory lending targeting
minorities.
As Mayor, Comptroller Hevesi will:
